About Andrew Deighton

I'm an executive level Employee Development and Human Resources professional with significant development, change and talent management expertise linked with senior generalist HR experience. This was developed through working for Rolls-Royce plc in roles across Aerospace, Naval and Commercial Marine, Civil Nuclear, Submarines and Operations sectors and in corporate positions.

Following an initial career as an engineer, I've led the HR workstream on a £40m manufacturing facility build, I've been the Head of Employee Development for a 7,000 people Marine business and the Head of Early Career Pipeline in an organisation recruiting and developing over 1,000 apprentice and graduate trainees a year. I've had international experience as the HR Director for a £600m turnover, 2,000 people global business with over four years based in Singapore and have in-depth understanding of working with UK, US, Asian and Nordic teams and cultures. I also developed the executive recruitment, development, succession planning and reward strategy and processes for a three company joint venture team bidding for a £7bn nuclear decommissioning contract.

I'm a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, with BPS Level A&B psychometric accreditation. I've a degree in Mechanical & Materials Engineering, and postgraduate diplomas in Engineering Business Management and in Human Resources Management.

I'm a voluntary mentor for students at the University of Derby, a Trustee of the DHA charity in Derby, and a volunteer with the Inspiring the Future organisation.

With significant project management and change management skills, I solve problems to achieve business success. I build strong relationships with people at all levels in an organisation, including executive team members.
